February holds many very important dates to me and my life. It is a very personal month to me, filled with love, sorrow and celebration all at the same time.  It is the second month of the year, which means workflow, goals and the New Year are in full effect, but it is a short month that takes us into March which brings us closer to Spring and gets me thinking whether I’m on the right track and/or making progress in my goals.

Feeling so many different emotions in one month can be overwhelming.  It can consume my days and can often get me down when things are not going as planned.  I too, get negative thoughts and constantly ask myself what am I doing this all for? What am I doing wrong? What am I doing right? And, what if in the end it’s not worth it? I’m sure many of you can relate and have felt the exact same way.  If you haven’t, I would probably say you are lying or you live in a perfect world that I would love to see.

The question that you are all probably thinking is,“ How do you get through it?” It is a valid question with a lot of depth and answers that all lead to one thing, SELF-LOVE.

Self-love is the most powerful and valuable thing in a person’s life.  It gets us through any and every thing, and is always the last thing standing when it seems as though everything else is falling apart.  It’s something no one or nothing can take away from us, and we are the only ones that can control it at ALL times. Put yourself at the top of your to-do list every single day and the rest will fall into place. Self-love is not selfish, so don’t think of it that way. Think that you cannot truly love others until you know how to love yourself.  Learn how to be alone in whatever it is you are doing in life, and LIKE IT.  There is nothing more freeing and empowering than learning to enjoy your own company.  Talk to yourself every day like you would talk to someone that you love because self-love is the source of all other loves.  It is the most important support you already have when you need love through sorrow and celebration.  Life never stops going.  People die, relationships end, work gets tough, stress comes, but self-love CAN always remain.

What if you simply devoted this year to loving yourself more? What if that was your number one goal and priority? Would you be successful? Maybe you would even be less stressed and better in your current relationships, work and find more happiness in your day to day life.  Have you ever truly asked yourself, “Where do you stand in the relationship you have with yourself?” For me, this is the most important goal that a person can accomplish.  I want all of you to love yourselves more because that is the secret to success and what makes EVERYTHING worth it.  Self-love is what makes you understand what you are doing it all for and that answer is YOU.
